MyDogeWallet Faces Another Hack: Community Response and Security Insights Following Identification of the Hacker

Identifying the Hacker:

Salty, a proactive member of the Dogecoin community, revealed the X profile (@manager95439) of the person responsible for the recent hack.

This hacker is the same individual behind the initial MyDogeWallet hack in December last year.

Hacker's Profile and Previous Activities:

The hacker, known as Patrick, has a history of targeting various accounts. Patrick is linked to the hacking of the Ethereum Layer-2 scaling protocol Loopring in November last year.

Community Frustration and CTO Confirmation:

Salty expressed frustration over the X team's failure to delete Patrick's profile after the initial hack. Alex, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of MyDogeWallet, confirmed in a post that Patrick's profile is indeed the primary account of the hacker. The X Security team has been notified, but Patrick's account remains active.

Recent Hack Details and Security Measures:

MyDogeWallet explained in an X post that the hacker exploited "Delegate Access" added during the previous hack to post messages on their account. This revelation suggests that the same hacker was involved in both incidents. MyDogeWallet assured users that they have regained control of the account and removed the hacker's access. Users are advised to check the "Delegate Access" section in their X settings for anything suspicious to prevent falling victim to similar attacks.
